Speciality Grade Coffee
Not your average cup of joe....
All of our espresso coffees are prepared to order using gorgeous speciality grade coffee bean. This means they are in the top 5% of all arabica coffee produced in the world. All our beans are roasted locally to order just for your special day and are freshly ground to order for every cup. We have created a menu that includes all of your favourite espresso drinks as well as some modern drinks that showcase the flavour of our coffee even more distinctly.
Speciality Coffee is all about the journey from farm to cup. This focus on the sustainability of the coffee industry offers better support for coffee farmers by helping set up trade associations and emphasising quality over quantity of coffee beans. And that's not all, newer, lighter roasting methods allow for more complex flavours, adequately showcasing the fruitiness that coffee has to offer! This coupled with newer technology and brewing methods means that the 3rd and 4th waves of the coffee industry has more interest than turning caffeine into profit. So from farmer to roastery, barista to customer we ensure quality is upheld at every stage.
At Something Brewed we want to bring the passion of the speciality coffee industry to you and your guests!
Our Coffee Ritual
We have taken every step that is possible to make our coffee the best possible drink that we can.
This begins with selecting the origin of the coffee beans that we will use at your event. We would love to collaborate with you and let you taste lots of different coffee and tell us which you like, or you can trust us to select a varietal that will be very tasty and also versatile.
Once we have chosen our favoured beans we make sure we place our order in good time with our roasting company, to allow it to be roasted and rested for your event.
The process of "dialling in" our espresso ensures us of a perfect cup every time. Before we allow you to try a single coffee we weigh the dose of coffee from the grinder to ensure it is the same every time. We then weigh the yield of espresso coming out the machine whilst timing how long this extraction takes. We then taste, taste, taste and create a perfect recipe of tastiness. Then for all subsequent shots, if all of these parameters are in our recipe range, we can be safe in the knowledge that your coffee will be perfect every single time!
